Sonnenerde Urban Tree Concentrate - Bulk Bag, 1 item

The more trees a city has, the more pleasant its climate becomes. Trees make a vital contribution to quality of life in urban areas by providing cooling during summer and helping to manage large volumes of rainwater.

Sonnenerde Urban Tree Concentrate is suitable for an innovative tree planting method based on the Eggenberger Allee in Graz, using the Stockholm tree planting system. This method encourages vigorous, healthy growth and improves resistance to weather-related stress. It also reduces maintenance requirements and the number of trees lost after planting. Tree pits constructed using this system can be completely paved over.

Composition:
Sonnenerde Urban Tree Concentrate was developed on behalf of the City of Graz in collaboration with engineer Erwin Murer, with the aim of providing trees with a stable growing medium for at least 100 years. It consists of Sonnenerde Soil Activator, specially optimised for urban tree planting, and must be mixed on site with quartz sand at a ratio of 1:4 before planting. This creates a long-lasting substrate that allows healthy root development.

Urban Tree Concentrate is recommended instead of Urban Tree Fine Substrate for longer transport distances, as mixing the concentrate with locally sourced quartz sand is more sustainable. Quartz sand of the required quality is widely available.

Bulk density: 0.6 tonnes/m³
