Sonnenerde Extensive Green Roof Substrate - Bulk Bag, 1 ton

This green roof substrate consists of 90% crushed roof tiles, which are exceptionally hard and completely frost-resistant, combined with compost. The mixture remains stable and free-draining for years. Thanks to its optimised particle size of 2–12 mm, it has a water retention capacity of approximately 35%, meaning that 1 m³ of crushed brick can store 350 litres of water.

The attractive red colouring also makes the substrate an eye-catching feature even without planting. Green roofs offer numerous benefits, particularly in urban areas. Water retained by the vegetation subsequently evaporates through the plants, improving the local microclimate and creating a noticeable cooling effect.

Application
Spread the green roof substrate evenly in a layer approximately 8 cm deep. The area can then be planted.
