Description
The "Primera" turnip is a delicate and red-headed turnip and is an absolute delicacy in France.
It is recommended for planting in the spring. After a few weeks, the plant produces 4-6 cm thick round turnips.
They can also be planted after lettuce or summer vegetables. The turnips contain a lot of fibre, vitamins, protein and mustard oils. The turnips can be enjoyed raw as a salad, stewed, cooked in butter or cooked like kohlrabi and served with meat. They thrive best in cold frame greenhouses and planted outdoors in vegetable gardens or raised beds.
