Description
This polygonaceous plant bears many leaves. The white to pink colored flowers sit on edgy, woody stems and produce black seeds. These seeds are often milled into whole foods. Buckwheat can be planted as a green manure and shades the ground very quickly. It is a fast-acting pre- and subsequent crop for all vegetable crops. The plants die off in mild frosts.
