Kiepenkerl Amaranth

The magnificent Amaranth is at home in Mexico. For centuries, the bright garden flower was very popular for summer and autumn gardens. The pastel flowers are nostalgic and sweet. Although it loves the sun and heat, it is easy to care for and blooms reliably.

This two-color mix contains long purple-red flowers and light green flower spikes. It makes for an eye-catcher on flower beds, on paths or in front of house walls. The annual summer flowers are particularly undemanding and robust and grow quickly. They can be planted directly outside or can be grown as seedlings inside. They reach a height of about 50 cm. They are suitable for attracting butterflies, as a companion plant and for summer gardens. They also look beautiful in vases or dried for decorations.

The seeds are rich in fiber and are a healthy food for birds. The starch-rich grains are also used for human consumption (especially for cereals).
