Description
Buck's-horn plantain forms numerous leaves that are both tender and crunchy when young and have a subtle salty and nutty taste. They are ideal for use in delicious salads, while older leaves can be infused as tea and blanched as a vegetable side dish. In addition to the leaves, the young inflorescences are also edible before flowering. As a coastal plant, it is robust and frost hardy.
Our tips:
- Requires a sunny, humus-rich spot that shouldn't be too dry
- Protection is recommended in severe frost

- Needs only a little fertiliser
- Harvest individual leaves or cut off the entire rosette over the heart of the plant
- Requires a sandy, loamy, salty, humus-rich soil
