Sperli "Snowball" Turnips

The Snowball variety is a high yielding, quick growing type of turnip. The round turnips have a delicate, firm flesh and a herbal, slightly sweet flavour. The leaves or "turnip greens" can be used for stews, as a veggie dish, or for salads. They can also be prepared as you would prepare spinach. You can eat the turnips raw, cooked or steamed. They make a wonderful side dish for meat or fish dishes.
