Wood sage belongs to the mint family and is a perennial. The location should be moist and semi-shaded. The herb naturalises easily near woody plants, but also grows well in pots and is frequently visited by insects.
Note: Although wood sage was once considered a medicinal plant, it is toxic and should therefore not be consumed.
