Description

Sea buckthorn is originally native to Nepal and is also known as the "Lemon of the North". If not pruned, it can reach a considerable height. Its orange fruits are edible and also provide a rich food source for birds. But exercise caution while harvesting - as the name suggests, sea buckthorn has nasty thorns!

Tips for cultivation:

  • First, place the seeds in the refrigerator for six weeks
  • Then soak them in water overnight
  • The next day, scatter the seeds on moist potting soil and cover lightly
  • Cover with cling film and poke holes in it
  • Remove the film every two to three days for 2 hours
  • Keep the substrate moist but not wet
