The Pride of Madeira is originally native to the beautiful island of Madeira, though it has since spread throughout the Mediterranean region. The plant reaches an impressive size and, in early summer, produces countless vibrant blue flower spikes.
Cultivation Tips:
- Scatter the seeds onto moist seed-starting soil and cover them only lightly
- Cover with cling film and prick holes in it for ventilation
- Remove the film every two to three days for 2 hours to prevent mould
- Keep the substrate moist but not wet
- Crucially, maintain a daytime temperature of 20–25°C and a nighttime temperature of 5–10°C
