Kiepenkerl Butterhead Lettuce "John"

Green salad for greenhouses and cold frames

Description

The first and last of these lettuces are so tender that the leaves practically melt on the tongue. Whether you harvest the lettuce from a greenhouse or a cold frame, the bright green heads delight every gourmet.

'John' is a particularly vigorous variety that is naturally resistant to powdery mildew (types 1-24), which is particularly dangerous in cold and wet seasons. The reliable variety has naturally high yields in autumn and spring, even under the protection of warming tunnels, fleeces or foils.
