Description
This fast-growing, juicy and aromatic variety can be harvested as a spring onion together with its crisp, green leaves. Its savoury taste can be used to flavour a large number of dishes and it can also be preserved as pickles.
Our tips:
- Thrives best in temperate climates
- Requires loose, moderately moist, humus-rich soil
- Plant the bulbs out only after the last frost
- Onions can also be grown from seed and planted in the second year
- Be careful not to let the plants grow too long
- The fully grown bulbs can be stored well
- Consume fresh or hang up to dry in a well-ventilated place
- Medium consumer of nutrients
- Suitable for balconies
- True to type seeds
- Good neighbours: zucchini, strawberry, tomato, carrot
