Description
This speciality for the home gardener is outstanding for growing as a "baby leaf" salad and produces large, relatively loose heads with bright red leaves.
Our Tips:
- Germination temperature: 10 to 15°C (max. 18°C)
- Both indoor sowing and direct sowing are possible
- Summer sowings should be done in the evening and shaded with fleece - temperatures above 20°C can hinder or prevent seed germination
- Do not sow too deeply
- Bolting is a stress response - caused by being planted too densely, or by being too dry or too hot
