Description
Parsnips are herbaceous plants with a conical, turnip-like taproot. The stems are usually hollow and ribbed. The taste is reminiscent of celery and carrots and is very similar to parsley root. Parsnips can be baked or cooked and are delicious in soups and purees. In grated form it can be used as a salad. The root is hardy and can be late harvested. Seldom pest prone.
