Description
Parsnips are herbaceous plants with a conical, turnip-like taproot. The stems are usually hollow and ribbed and have a flavour reminiscent of celery and carrots. Parsnips can be baked or cooked and are delicious in soups and purées. They can also be grated to make salads. The roots are hardy and can be harvested late.
