Saflax Nordmann Fir

The Nordmann fir grows up to 25 m tall and 8 m wide. On average, it grows about 25 cm per year. Therefore, choose the location for planting it carefully right at the time of sowing.

Our tips:

• Stratify the seeds before sowing - place them in a plastic bag in the freezer for one to two days and then wrap them in foil with moist sand and place them in the refrigerator for eight to ten days
• Afterwards, either sow the seeds directly outdoors or start them indoors in a planter
• Cover the cultivation container with cling film and provide air holes to protect the soil from drying out
• Remove the film every two to three days for about two hours to prevent mould growth
• Place the cultivation container in a bright and warm place at 15 to 25°C
• Keep the soil surface moist but not wet
• When repotting, choose a tall planter as the plant develops long taproots
• Protect seedlings from direct sunlight
• Prefers loose, moist, and nutrient-rich soil
• Keep the soil evenly moist
• Protect young trees in winter with fleece or similar material
