Magic Garden Seeds Fragrant Wild Roses - Seed Set

If you can't walk past a rose without smelling it, then this set is just the thing for you. The beautiful gift pack holds seeds for three different wild rose varieties, all of which are wonderfully scented. A feast for your senses and a paradise for bees and other beneficial insects. The red rose hips that form after the flowers bloom and wilt are ideal for making tea, jam and liqueur. They are also a great source of food for wild birds.

The set contains the following 3 wild rose varieties:

• Musk Rose (Rosa moschata)
  Bears white flowers that smell of cloves. Extremely popular with beneficial insects.
• Japanese Rose / Beach Rose (Rosa rugosa)
  A robust variety with light pink flowers, with the distinctive scent of wild roses.
• Dog Rose (Rosa canina)
  A well-known variety with many light pink flowers that are wonderfully fragrant.

The set includes 1 seed pack of each variety. The attractive gift box also contains detailed instructions for sowing in German and English.

Tip: Growing roses from seed is not easy and requires patience, as rose seeds can take up to two years to germinate. The process can be accelerated by carefully scarifying the seeds and then mixing them with moist sand. Place this mixture in a plastic bag and keep it warm and moist at 27 to 32ºC for 2-4 weeks. After this time, store in the refrigerator at 3°C for approx. 4 months and check regularly to see if the seeds have germinated.
