Magic Garden Seeds Asparagus Varieties Seed Set

Asparagus is an exceptionally delicious vegetable but comes at a price. Growing asparagus yourself is well worth it but you need to be patient at first. It takes around three years before you can harvest your first asparagus. After that, however, the plants can remain where they are and be harvested for up to 12 years.

The set includes detailed sowing instructions and seeds of three old asparagus varieties:

• White Asparagus "Ruhm von Braunschweig" (Asparagus officinalis)
  A very rare white asparagus variety with an excellent flavour that is not readily available commercially
• Green Asparagus "Mary Washington" (Asparagus officinalis)
  This green asparagus variety is very robust and grows in all soils.
• Pyrenäen-Milchstern, Prussian asparagus / Bath Asparagus (Ornithogalum pyrenaicum)
  An aromatic wild asparagus variety that is easy to grow. This variety also bears pretty white star-shaped flowers.
