Kiepenkerl Romaine Lettuce "Corbana"

This lettuce from the Mediterranean area is characterized by narrow heads and crisp, upstanding delicate leaves. The heads are an appetizing green and are lined with a well-filled out, yellow heart. They are something very special! They stay surprisingly fresh and crisp, both in the fridge and served with dressings or salt, pepper, oil and balsamic vinegar. Especially popular are the so-called "lettuce hearts" or the juicy inner leaves. They have a pleasantly nutty taste.
