Description

This heat-loving wrinkled pea remains relatively compact and produces deep green pods. The peas of this resilient variety are exceptionally sweet and highly aromatic.

Our Tips:

  • Sowing: Wrinkled peas require warm soil to germinate and should therefore be sown later in the spring than smooth-seeded varieties.
  • Once the seedlings have emerged, hoe the soil to keep it weed-free; after 14 days, "earth up" the plants by drawing soil around the base of the stems.
  • Provide a climbing support (such as pea sticks or netting) once the plants are established.
  • The tender young peas are at their very best when eaten fresh immediately after harvesting.
