Description

This vigorous variety produces robust foliage and large, orange-red roots with smooth skin and a sweet, aromatic flavour. It is excellently suited for commercial production as well as long-term storage, and notably, it performs well even in heavier soils. Thanks to its high Brix levels (sugar content), it is the ideal choice for high-quality carrot juice.

Our Tips:

  • Sowing Rates:
    • For early varieties: approx. 100 seeds per linear metre.
    • For maincrop/washed carrots: 80–100 seeds per linear metre.
    • For processing/large roots: 60–70 seeds per linear metre.
  • Soil Management: Carrots generally require loose, friable soil that is not prone to "capping" (forming a crust). For heavy soils, we recommend growing on raised ridges to ensure better drainage and root development.
  • Row Marking: Because carrots have a slow germination rate, mixing the seeds with a few radish seeds is recommended. The radishes emerge quickly, marking the rows and helping to naturally thin the crop as they are harvested.
  • Thinning: If seedlings are too crowded, thin them out to ensure each root has the space to grow large and uniform.
